Mothers Who Consume Probiotics May Lessen Risk of Eczema in Their Newborns

In a report published in the journal Allergy, Dutch researchers reported that consumption of probiotics by pregnant women may prevent eczema in children with a family history of allergies. In the study, parents reported that during the newborns’ first 3 months of life, 6 of 50 of the mothers who received probiotics reported eczema in their children, compared with 15 of 52 of the placebo group.
Albert Einstein Researchers Recommend Probiotics to be Taken with Antibiotics

In a recent study by researchers at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University published in American Family Physician Einstein scientists reported finding seven, high-quality studies in which probiotics helped people to avoid diarrhea caused by antibiotic use or from gastrointestinal viral or bacterial infections.
